Solo Strands In these six short stories, Gerry Joe Capone intimately addresses themes of sexism, class, lone lives, and small town isolation. Each distinct narrator is driven to learn more about a single compelling character who, through memory or need, has entered his life. Each arrives at an epiphany which not only "solves the mystery" of this man or woman, but impacts and changes the life of the narrator. The stories occur in very specific New York locations, the final four in a small northeast NY city between 1955-1975. The narrations are direct, lucid, particular, conversational, and forceful.
