The Civil War started on exactly April 12, 1861, but this story starts in 1863. Lily, Vivian, and Rolf go on an adventure during the Civil War and try to get their dad out of the war. During that time, they find two slaves that just had escaped from their owners. Are these slaves going to be okay? Most of all, can they trust them?
