The recent uprisings in Northern African countries took by surprised all European member states and probably the entire world. Thousands of people fled their country of origin toward other parts of Northern Africa and Europe, increasing therefore insecurity in the region. This book aimed at exploring the current EU?s migration policy related to refugees in the Mediterranean, highlighting not only its strengths and weaknesses but also its challenges. The analysis should help shed some light on massive violation of human rights by EU member states and should be especially useful to professionals in human rights field, or anyone else who may be interested in migration issues.
