Teaching Writing Skills to Engineering Students: an Experiment in a Multilingual Context

Teaching writing skills is an area which requires special attention in the present day engineering curriculum. The engineers form an international community who require a common recognizable code among themselves. In writing they cannot afford to be ungrammatical. It is observed that the engineering students lack linguistic competence. An attempt is made in this book to achieve cohesion and linguistic competence in writing. The specially designed communicative language learning tasks help students with lower proficiency in English to balance fluency and accuracy in their writing.
