In this age of rapidly developing technology, each and every design meant to improve the livelihood of others is examined critically to determine if it can itself be improved. The project undertaken in this book contains fresh ideas for improving the efficiency of travel for the physically impaired. People in wheelchairs often face many difficulties both physically and emotionally as they travel around, desperately attempting to avoid as many obstacles as possible. This project involves the creation of a functional eight-legged robotic transporter prototype meant to address the difficulties faced by those confined to wheelchairs. The research conducted in this project recognizes that the key to efficiency within this design is its adaptability to the environment. Explore the obstacles this device faces as it travels from design to manufacturing, manufacturing to testing, and finally from testing to ideas for future research and development.
