Courage has been widely celebrated throughout recorded history. Surprisingly, courage in social sciences has only recently begun to see empirical validation and systematical studies. This book presents experience of courage from psychological perspective. Overall themes that emerged characterizing the experience of courage were: real risk, fear, perseverance and endurance, taking challenges and moral goals. This book is particularly focuses on courage in personal life, work place and the outdoor activity. The book consists of two parts. Part one includes theoretical considerations about courage and presents previous studies on courage. Second part presents three studies. The first study examines relations between psychological courage and personality. The second study presents relations between courage in outdoor activity and personality. The third study refers personality aspects of fearless and courageous persons. Results of these studies give us a new information about personality determinants of courage.
