The ?MIS on Himalayan Database using GIS & DM Techniques? is an end-user interface to visualize the managed information in structured way. The structure has been classified according to the three level of management science, viz. operational, tactical, and strategic. The object oriented programming techniques has been adopted using GUIs. The output (information) presents the results of managed data, and the data compilation process have not listed. Data sets used are either based or derived from secondary sources. The GIS Software (Arc Info/View) has been used to present the GIS models on SoI maps. The operational information presents the data in simple format (absolute, aggregated, and summarized) through browsing icon. The tactical information presents managerial inferences in the form of graph or map, while strategic information presents inferences using some statistical and quantitative techniques. The objective of the model is to provide useful information for better understanding of the present state of this under-developed region and future course of action, which could also be used for other region having similar kind of data.
