The aim of the present work is that to find out the possibility to create a geometrical model of a hypothetical repository system using the GoCAD software, which is compatible with the Finite Element Modelling (FEM) package RockFlow. It gives a general view of the main international projects and legislations in terms of nuclear safety and illustrates in big lines what does it mean planning a repository facility for nuclear spent fuel.
