Evaluation of Quality of Learning Software: Basics, Concepts, Methods
Valentina Dagiene
The main aim of the book is to analyse the scientific approaches for the expert evaluation of quality of the learning software, namely, Learning Objects (LOs), Learning Object Repositories (LORs), and Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs). The problem is of very high scientific and practical relevance for the educational sector. The authors analyse several scientific methods, requirements and principles to improve the quality of the expert evaluation of the learning software, and propose MCEQLS (Multiple Criteria Evaluation of Quality of the Learning Software) approach that could significantly improve the quality of the expert evaluation of the learning software and reduce the evaluation subjectivity level. The book also presents some examples of practical application of the MCEQLS approach in the evaluation of quality of LOs and VLEs. The main target groups for which the book was written are the education sector stakeholders, namely, the educational institutions (schools, universities, etc.), educational authorities (ministries of education, regional agencies, etc.), researchers, and providers of the educational software (LOs publishers, VLE vendors, etc.).
