The main environmental problems resulting from the production processes in Industries include solid wastes, air pollutants and effluents. Lack of a developed environmental information system and network is an impediment to achieving efficient and effective environmental management and best practices. Industries should endeavor to develop environmental information systems internally and establish a collaborative network for accessing, providing and using environmental information, only then can they achieve sustainable industrial development. This book advocates for a strong ad improved system of access, provision and use of environmental information. it also recommends strategies for developing and strengthening this system as well as benefit policy makers in making informed decisions on how best to audit industries.
