Tracking down problems is a task that has been revisited since the very beginning of the modern industry. To take the correct approach is vital to solve certain problems and a new point of view could be taken using new forms of reasoning that allow a wider range of values, such as grey scale opposed to the black and white classic logic. The appearance of new innovative technologies, such as artificial intelligence, expert systems or distributed knowledge systems, should lead us to promote the research of new base tools which allow us to apply the fuzzy logic. Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) can do it efficiently being combined with other powerful tools to enhanced the whole action, in this case intelligent systems. These innovative technologies combined with the potential of the Fuzzy Modelling and Classification techniques, actually used along the industry for its potential, could change the way to tackle some problems with efficient solutions.
