Disability is an area which has been largely under researched. Some have focused on problems faced by disabled people and the rehabilitation programmes designed for them. However, people have tried to look at the magnitude of the problem, the programmes and policies available and their limitations. Much effort has been put into the rehabilitation and prevention without adequate attention to curative inputs. This book presents research work confining to the study of socio-economic profile of the differently allied people. There are mainly 7 kinds of disabled allover the world. The book tried to trace out the problems faced by the disabled the various welfare programmes initiated to the different kinds of disabled people with a comprehensive development approach to benefit them. This book is going to be a useful tool for people working on the welfare of differently abled and the government.
