E-local Government: Exploring Citizens' Attitude Towards Electronic Municipal Services

The possibility of Internet use in order to provide services may become an important advantage for the better function of local authorities. Also, it could be an important asset for the improvement of quality in citizens? service. However, the application of such development practices depends, on the one hand on the ability of civil society to adopt and use such servers and on the other hand on the actions of first degree local authorities to promote this innovation for the benefit both of civil society and the local government. This study is integrated in the context of mentioned concerns, attempting to approach the concept of electronic governance with Public Administration and Local Government, providing also, some good practices that were observed in different European countries and in Greece. A survey follows to investigate citizens? behaviour towards electronic municipal services (as they are available today), and an attempt is made to determine the factors that affect this behaviour.
