This Master?s project examines listening education and its importance in undergraduate communication degree programs. An exemplary literature review was conducted to investigate best practices for teaching listening and discover the most effective and feasible deployment of a ?stand alone? undergraduate college course on listening. A structured curriculum is created and includes information for the teacher, behavioral objectives of the course, and a 15-week detailed syllabus with emphasis on a text that is solely dedicated to listening. This project included aspects of online learning platforms like discussion forums and blogs, and exercises that correlate to the reading material It also included the use of the Watson Barker Listening Test that will hopefully show an improvement in listening.
