Development of Gas Sensors
Y. K. Vijay
Our group is involved in multidisplinary research fields like SHI induced modification in polymers, and their use as nanofilter, CNT dispersed polymer filters for gas separation and ion separation. We have developed nuclear track etched and composite membranes for physical chemical and biological applications. The surface modification by irradiation of polymers is also carried out and studied. Besides it our group is also involved in preparation of bilayer /multilayer nanostructures semi conducting thin films, hydrogen storage materials, switch able mirrors and dilute magnetic semiconductors. The Porous polymers with some active dopping provide a good media for variation in the electronic properties due to gas absorption, which has been the main motivation for developing the polymer based gas sensors.
