Educating the visually impaired is a challenge, especially in developing countries where special education is not yet advanced. Mathematics is a highly visual and abstract subject, thereby posing difficulties for the visually impaired learners. This book provides an overview of the challenges encountered by teachers and pupils in teaching and learning mathematics. It also brings out the reasons why mathematics is such a challenge for the visually impaired in Zambia. Teacher and pupils have come up with strategies to overcome the challenges to ensure that mathematics is taught and learnt. The challenge is enormous, hence calling upon partners in education to come together and provide education for the visually impaired.
