To the author's surprise, he found the hobby had not only grown but is thriving. The book is packed full of information for both the novice and old-timer. It covers the hobby in its entirety, using bits of history while transitioning to what is happening today. Lesser-known aspects of amateur radio, such as DXpeditions, working split, FT8, Slow Scan TV, Meteor-scatter, EME, grid chasing, roving, and more are explained in a style that all can understand.
