When he was 34 years old, Chris Rajchel suffered a brain hemorrhage from a ruptured arteriovenous malformation that nearly killed him. Although he was lucky to survive, he emerged from a coma unable to speak and with no use of his right arm and leg. From that day forward, Chris began a long and difficult recovery. With the help of caring doctors and therapists, unstinting support from his family and friends, and his own tremendous effort, Chris adapted to permanent paralysis and worked to overcome significant language loss. The hemorrhage forever changed Chris's life. Yet each day he perseveres in the face of extreme adversity, living a full and independent life.
