A PATH TO WOMANHOOD IN SIERRA LEONE is a book written in a form of letter from a mother, Yeallie, to her daughter, Fethanda. A thought-provoking epistolary in which Yeallie related her difficult and painful journey into womanhood. This book is, at once, a plea to tell it all: firstly, to tell of the less exciting and more painful side of FGM; secondly to tell the whole truth about cutting and its drastic impact on women's physical, psychological and social wellbeing. Throughout the letter, Yeallie puts constructive arguments to her daughter, so that she can make informed choices through her rites of passage into womanhood.
