A young Black girl, about to be moved into the Big House to be used and abused by the plantation owner is suddenly "stolen " off the plantation. Stella Mae's Star is the true story of the first Black Woman to graduate from a Nevada College; UNR, 1952. It begins with a little sharecropper girl whose father "stole" his family off of the Kimbrew Plantation. This exciting journey eventually led them to Las Vegas, Nevada, home of many Stars! Stella, whose name means Star in Spanish, followed her own Star until she became one herself. This book will teach children and adults the value of determination, endurance and faith in God. We all have a guiding Star. If we follow its lead, we will find our earthly purpose. We will then become the Stars that shine brightly and lead others to their God-given destiny.
