Broken into. Beaten bloody and maimed. All he wants to know is why. Crime author Matt Ryan moves to a coastal village where retired underworld boss Burton now lives. The Ryan family is broken into by masked intruders. They take possessions; His wife is assaulted, and they beat Matt to a pulp. Matt begins obsessively installing high-tech home security measures, waiting for 'THEM' to return. Wanting revenge, he breaks in across the village, exacting pay back. He discovers a connection to the enigmatic Burton, and a secret buried deep in the coastal land since World War II. In a deadly game of cat and mouse, events will lead Matt Ryan to a final violent showdown.
