In the Mind and Heart of the Church Peter Hammett O S B

To live IN THE MIND AND HEART OF THE CHURCH is the conviction that results from experiencing that the normal and most intimate way to encounter the Lord is in the celebration of his mysteries: his Passion, Death, Resurrection, Ascension and sending of the Spirit. The encounter with the Lord revealing his inner self to us happens in the Liturgy, in every liturgical celebration and especially so in the Eucharist. The writings and lectures of Abbot Patrick presented in this volume teach how all flows from and leads back to the celebration of the Paschal Triduum. His dialogue with the historical unfolding of the mysteries in the Church's Liturgy, the ritual enactment today and the theological and pastoral implications make this a timely book for all who wish to seriously immerse themselves and others in the sacred Liturgy.
