Sosapia and Atterra are two halves of a fractured planet. Ever since the Dark Lord Zorramor split the world in two in his quest for destruction, four Guardian animal spirits have overseen the broken earth, keeping the split planet alive with their magic. After the planet was broken, the Star, the very essence of the great goddess, was split into five Shards to keep it safe from Lord Zorramor. However, not even banishment to the realm of fire could keep Zorramor forever. Ancient wizards prophesied that he would return, one million years later, to finish his vile work and destroy the Star for good. But all hope was not lost, for another prophecy was foretold... Joy is a teenage girl from the humble forest village of Maerik. She was completely ordinary in every way... except for her bright blue hair. Because of it, the other villagers believe her to be "cursed," and it seems as though their beliefs are justified when a band of demons attacks Maerik on account of her. Barely understanding why and full of questions about her real identity, Joy sets off with her younger brother Samuel on an adventure across the continent to find all five Star Shards. On her journey, she makes powerful new friends... and terrifying enemies. Joy will learn that a pure heart is stronger than any magic, and even the most vile malice can be overcome with enough courage and perseverance.
