Bladereaper and the Game Zone of Fate P J Thorndyke

In a cataclysmic war of the gods, the fate of one world will be decided in another ...

The year is 1987 and life is rough for Billy Kurgen. His dad has split, his mom barely notices him, and his satanically inclined big brother has gone off the deep end big time. Picked on at school and at home, Billy's only form of escape is in heavy metal, fantasy comic books and video games. And one game in particular is gradually consuming him, not to mention his quarters. It's violent, it's addictive and it's called Bladereaper ...

Meanwhile, in the distant land of Skaldheim, an ancient evil has awoken. A sorceress dabbles with dark forces and begins a war between the very gods themselves. Thief and sword-for-hire Bladereaper finds himself thrust into an interdimensional conflict which takes him beyond the realms of his own world ...

Part sword and sorcery yarn, part suburban coming-of-age tale, Bladereaper and the Game Zone of Fate is a thrilling slice of '80s nostalgia in the spirit of Stranger Things and Ready Player One.
