Church Niggas Darlene Covington
Church Niggas
Darlene Covington
This book is about a young girl who journeyed from Philadelphia to New York to join her cousin's church. Darlene was only eighteen when she arrived in Troy, New York where her cousin was the pastor. This pastor had more business than church business. His plans were to control, manipulate, and lie to his members. There was a lot of abuse in the church: mental, physical, and sexual; especially among the children. There were many incidents of rape and molestation in the church that were never reported, not even to some of the victims' parents. This church was operating as a cult. Most members had been brainwashed, were living in poverty, and had become slave workers under a slave master.
