Rooted In The Heartland
Margaret Snow
In 1945 a young soldier who was the son of a share cropper, sent a letter home to his sweetheart and this is what he said. "If I make it through this war, my dream is to buy a good piece of ground, work it, and pass it on to my family."In 1946 that young man came back to Oklahoma, married his sweetheart, & bought an Oklahoma farm. Along with his new wife and her parents they all made a home on his farm and began a family farming operation. Today one lineage of the family represents five generations that have tilled ground on some part of that farm and carries on the tradition of farming passed in the bloodstream. It is fair to say, a man's wartime dream became a reality.
