Love Letters In The Jungle
Marko Urukalo
Nico Urkolic and Sindita Mercoso fall in love and plan to marry. Separated by continents the first obstacle is how to get Sindita back to America after she returns to her home in Peru due to a family emergency. Unfortunately, returning home prevented her from finishing her course work, and thus violated her student visa.
Traveling from Arequipa to Puerto Maldonado where the family store is located requires Sindita to ride on a bus for thirteen hours through seedy towns and along the edge of the Amazon jungle where busses are often targeted by unscrupulous people. Despite traveling by herself Sindita is a confident person who learned from her grandfather and father to be cautious but never fearful.
Sindita's survival skills as well as determination will be tested when she is drugged, kidnapped, and taken hostage. When Nico gets the call from his future father-in-law he knows immediately he has to save the woman he loves. Doing so will require all of his skills that made him one of the finest Army Rangers to ever put on the uniform. With the assistance of his lifelong friend and fellow ranger Patrick they will cross the equator and face an enemy that lives deep inside the unforgiving jungle. Nico's support team also includes his friend Linzie who has loved him since high school. The final member of the team is Nico's big red dog who has one terrible habit, chasing people.
Assisted by Sindita's Uncle Llamil, who serves as a Captain with the Peruvian National Police they must find Sindita before it is too late. The journey will twist and turn like the Ucayali River and push friendships to the breaking point. Blood will be shed, lives will be lost, and surviving the jungle is only part of the problem. Will love be enough to bring Sindita back home?
