Here Be Dragons gives the celebrated Avantasia sound—carefully refined over 25 years—an exciting and powerful twist, resulting in the band’s most consistent and concise work to date.
The Avantasia legacy is nothing short of monumental, with nine previous studio albums (including 2019’s chart-topping Moonglow in Germany), gold certifications, hundreds of millions of streams, and headline performances at the world’s most significant metal festivals. Their sold-out arena tours have captivated tens of thousands of fans worldwide. Following the release of Here Be Dragons, Avantasia will embark on an extensive European arena tour, promising their biggest and most epic production yet.
True to Avantasia’s signature style, the new album offers vivid storytelling, cinematic atmospheres, and unmatched musicianship. The 10-track masterpiece was written and composed entirely by Tobias Sammet, produced and recorded by Sammet with Sascha Paeth, mixed by Paeth, and mastered by Michael Rodenberg. The album’s stunning cover art, created by acclaimed British fantasy artist Rodney Matthews, encapsulates the spirit of the record.
