"The Seeds of Love" is Tears for Fears' critically acclaimed third studio album, originally released in September 1989. The album became both a commercial and critical success, debuting at No. 1 on the UK album chart, while achieving platinum status in the UK after just three weeks. In the USA, the album reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and was also certified platinum.

"The Seeds of Love" is today considered one of the defining albums of the 1980s and contains some of the band's most famous recordings, including the hit singles "Sowing the Seeds of Love", "Woman in Chains", "Advice for the Young at Heart" and "Badman's Song".

The 2LP edition is pressed on blue special effect vinyl and combines the original album with an extra LP featuring demos and rare versions, several of which are released on vinyl for the very first time. The release comes in a single sleeve with alternative cover artwork.

The 3CD edition contains the original album as well as essential B-sides, alternative mixes, and rare recordings from the period. The release is presented in a deluxe 3CD digipak and includes a booklet with interviews conducted by Super Deluxe Edition editor Paul Sinclair with members of the band and key contributors to the album.
