Bon Iver's '22, A Million (10th Anniversary Edition)' is presented here on Frosted Silver vinyl with new alternative artwork featuring a soft-touch finish and details in glossy spot-UV varnish. Released to commemorate the album's 10th anniversary.

The edition includes the original 28-page lyric booklet, here reproduced with three different silver colors, as well as an additional 12-page full-color booklet, documenting the album's creative process through previously unseen artwork and an essay written by Eric Timothy Carlson.

When Bon Iver released "22, A Million" in 2016, the album marked a radical break with the organic folk sound that had made Justin Vernon famous. While "For Emma, Forever Ago" was intimate and acoustic, and the self-titled "Bon Iver" expanded the soundscape with larger and more detailed arrangements, "22, A Millio"n" plunged headlong into digital manipulation, samples, distorted vocals, and fragmented electronic productions. The album's ten tracks revolve around doubt, faith, identity, anxiety, and the search for meaning. Even the song titles – such as “22 (OVER S∞∞N)”, “10 d E A T h b R E a s T ⚄ ⚄”, “33 ‘GOD’” and “715 – CRΣΣKS” – were presented through numbers, symbols, and cryptic typography.

"22, A Million" became an important turning point for both Bon Iver and the alternative music around them. The album showed how the singer/songwriter tradition could coexist with the sound manipulation and production aesthetic that, at the time, particularly characterized experimental hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music. Instead of using Auto-Tune and electronic effects to polish the music, Vernon allowed technology to make the voice more fragile, alien, and emotionally unstable. This approach became a central part of Bon Iver's musical language in the subsequent years.

Ten years after its release, "22, A Million" therefore stands as one of the most decisive albums in Bon Iver's catalog: the record where the project definitively moved away from the idea of Justin Vernon as the lonely folk singer-songwriter and instead became a boundlessly experimental musical project.
