Affetti Napoletani: 18Th Century Neapolitan Music
Estrovagante Ensemble / Riccardo Doni
This recording brings together sonatas, symphonies and concertos by Baroque masters from the royal city of Naples, including several world premieres. Marchitelli, Mascitti, Ragazzi, Fiorenza and Porpora reveal the brilliance of the Neapolitan school and its wider reach, from southern Italy to Paris, in a vivid portrait of eighteenth-century instrumental life, style and exchange.
