After a 12-year album hiatus, the legendary British prog-rock band Asia returns with Indigo, their 14th studio album and first release of new studio material since 2014's Gravitas.

With original member Geoff Downes on keyboards at the helm, Asia's current lineup consists of guitarist John Mitchell, drummer Virgil Donati, and bassist and lead singer Harry Whitley. Together, they carry on the band's musical legacy with an album that unites the classic Asia sound with renewed energy, intricate arrangements, and modern production.

Indigo also has a special connection to the band's history. The first ideas for the album emerged back in 2015, when Geoff Downes began writing new material with original lead singer John Wetton. However, the work was interrupted by Wetton's illness and subsequent death in 2017. Now, some of his final compositions are finally brought to life on the album in the form of "Tattoo Indigo (Parts 2 & 3)" and "Chesapeake Bay". The latter also features a guest appearance by original Asia member and Yes guitarist Steve Howe.

The album was recorded throughout 2025 and produced by Geoff Downes and the rest of the band, while John Mitchell handled the mixing and mastering. With Indigo, Asia bridges the past and the present while honoring the legacy of John Wetton, showing that their signature melodic prog-rock still has plenty to offer.
